Well, hey, there.
I know it's been a while, y'all. I've been busy.
For the past couple of years, I've been going back to school, working on changing careers. I'm not graduated yet, but the hardest part of it, is almost past, and now, I can take a breath and think about something other than passing the next test.
Between working part-time, going to school full-time, and running Kindred Protective Arts, I just haven't have much time or energy to write and publish blog posts.

I have about 17 - yes, 17 - drafts of various posts I started over the past few years but could not get into publishable shape (at least, not to my standards). Some of those posts may see the light of day, but many won't, as the timeliness of them has passed.
I never intended to be on this long of a hiatus, but wow, writer's block is a very real problem when you spend most of your time studying for the 80 billion tests I've had to endure in the last couple of years. Going back to school at my age is no easy feat, especially in a field that is RADICALLY different than my old gig in marketing.
Which kind of sucks, because lots of things have been happening in my martial arts life. Things I'm passionate about in the martial arts world as a whole, and stuff that's happened in my tiny little corner.
Let's see... the last time I was posting on the regular, it was August 2022 (literally as my school program started).
In that time, our school hit the 3 year mark and has changed in nature vs. what we started. We've promoted three people to Lakan Isa (Black Belt) in Presas Arnis, Mr Chick and I have been promoted ourselves to our next ranks in Presas Arnis and Modern Arnis, and we've attended some big-time camps, and we've hosted a ton of teachers at our place, too.
I've personally experienced the stage in my training where things are getting a lot simpler. Not EASY, just simpler. I'll definitely blog about that soon.
With KPA, We've had failures, we've had successes, and in the process, we've learned a ton. I'd like to talk about that too.
I'd also like to offer my two cents on larger issues in the Modern Arnis / FMA world, and martial arts in general.
So I'm back, kids. Not sure what the schedule will be just yet, but it will be somewhere between 2-4 times a month, assuming nothing weird happens. Not as often as it used to be, but much more than the past two years.
