My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 3/20/20

Interesting times, huh? Let's get going.

TRAINING

We did have a session of the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup on Sunday. Our group is pretty small, and we focused on those techniques and drills that we could work on that would keep us at a distance and not touching each other.

We are going to go to video training for the duration of this pandemic, and we're going to have video sessions using Zoom at our normal time of Sundays at 8:30 am (US central time). We're also going to add another session on Wednesdays at 8:00 pm (US central time). So, if you want to join us, please join us on Meetup at the link above - the Zoom meetings are in the Meetups.

We've already gone to video training for the Presas Arnis class at Elite Dragon Martial Arts. This is only for students of Elite Dragon, so I can't invite you unless you're a student there. We recorded a bunch of "snippets" of basic drills as well as held a virtual class to work on fundamentals they can work on at home.

My teacher is also doing virtual classes, so it's actually an opportunity for ME to join my teacher again! So that's nice!

OTHER FUN STUFF

Y'know, the standard length of a bo IS six feet... hmmmmm....

Can't do it in groups any more.

Finally, this quote has been making the rounds and I find it pretty powerful and inspirational.

So make the most of the time you're given, and be flexible and creative in living your best life, ok?

FRIDAY THOUGHTS

WMAA Texas camp in April is officially postponed, which is a huge bummer. A necessary bummer, but still... a bummer. I am lucky enough to have a job where I can work from home, and I'm grateful for that, but as an extrovert, it's a slow torture being as isolated as we are. I will be very happy when this is over.

Y'all stay safe and healthy, keep training, and try to keep having fun!
