My Week in Stick Chicktivity - 05/01/20

Writer: Jackie BradburyJackie Bradbury

May. May?!?!

May. Yikes.

TRAINING:

In the Kansas City Presas Arnis (virtual) Meetup, we talked about Dos Manos as a striking method, challenges in range when using diferent grips (saber vs. reverse or "ice pick"), and we covered how to stitch together different techniques and drills into a long chain as a challenge, focusing in on primarily using sinawali and classical strikes (as that's what we've covered lately) as tools to focus on for now.

In the Elite Dragon Presas Arnis (virtual) class, I taught an updated version of Anyo Isa (Stick form 1) to bring us in line with the way my teacher is teaching it (we were doing it the OLD way, the way I learned it).

Productive week... at least as productive as you can be, virtually!

OTHER FUN STUFF

I am looking forward to having this as a problem again.

This literally made me laugh out loud.

FRIDAY THOUGHTS

Like a lot of folks, I'm trying to figure out the future of the Kansas City Presas Arnis Meetup, our Elite Dragon martial arts classes, and hopefully resume negotiations for another Presas Arnis program to open up here in town (we had to break those off due to the virus just as we got talking!).

Nothings decided yet, but wow, it's nice to actively think about those things again...

Y'all stay safe, have fun, and train hard!
